Back and Forth

When Close We the Eye

A helping hand?  Stand on your own!

Rewrite your heart; none stand alone.

These troubled ones, my load, to bare?  Let each strengthen the knee, fulfill each their own care.  We all the same struggle, a resolute, determined heart; so rise-up, be well; go quickly; depart!

Relieve each their own pain? Rise-up; depart?  Strengthen thine own frame? Where make the start?  Rather this sacrifice extended, greet: show thou the way now, assist now the feet!  Unmet needs, seeds sorely sown, surely reap a wild harvest, a lasting scorn; and for a begrudging consent or price unwillingly bought, when close we the eye, a reward we have lost.

Much Advice

Are you listening?

Listening!

You better listen, to what that preacher man said.

I think he’s a little bit hard of hearing;

Quick!

Check the bumps on his head.

Hope

Reliance upon a harvest of God's words spoken; bountiful mercy beyond rational minds; a covenant, yes; unbroken.

The Company You Keep

You were created to keep company with God and the entire heavenly host.  Your struggle is not against those who offend, it's the temptation to offend - the boast.

Reflections

Faith is God speaking through you; it's not what you say, your image reflects you.

Solid Ground

Ground him, Lord!  Put his feet on a solid ground.  Stand him on flat rock, Lord.  Put his feet on solid ground.

Truth

You can hold it; you can talk about it; you can misrepresent it well.  You can analyze it from time-to-time; but, you can't change its tell.

The Passage

A few will get thru, most won’t, it’s not a secure passage;

caution to the masses, some set on a pedestal;

it’s not a secure passage.

A Word For It

I fear this has become an old fashion sentence: Return to the Lord; there's a word for it.

Repent.

When You Are Wrong

Get off your mark; get set; stop!

Ordinary

My problem, or perhaps my pride, is I never wanted to be counted ordinary; didn't care much for the ride.

Safety Covering

That sinner returned repentant with new eyes, all broke down; a true desire for forgiveness and safety covering - protection, against God's righteous frown.

A Familiar Place

I am depleted, run down, tipped-over, spilled.  My heart weights heavy; my inner core, chilled.  Life's once sources of joy elude this space; and so I retreat inside myself, a familiar place, with no one else.

Remember

Look in the direction you are heading and keep watch all around.  Remember where you came from, and especially where you’re bound.

God’s Words

Snatch me up; stand me tall.  With strength revived, my mind renewed,

God’s words recalled.

Press Ahead

If we achieve all these things, it will be wonderful to say; but, if we press ahead in the grip of set-back, that will be an example worthy to display.

My Soul Moves

Familiar thoughts, unfamiliar sounds; empty effects, unsettled; frowns.

A mind once fixed, now filled with care.  A goal, a life; a need of repair.

Everything Lord that you say be, now comes unraveled - a test of me?

Foundations hewn deep in solid bedrock can never be shaken, the story taught.

Daily struggles - a formidable wall of wax; imposing it stands, strength it lacks.

Of spoken thought existence came, on this assemblage; beliefs are trained.

The world's a test bed; a treachery the Lord's hands never bare; this life, this state, He suffered repair. All along each day, by God's breath we are propelled - a fearless fight without relent; weapons of the Spirit, the Lord's content.

Then push ahead my soul, determined and unbowed!  A hand will pull down; a hand will uphold. The travel is not pleasant nor easy always.

Daily resolve points the way, and sticky resolution over-seeds decay.

Please Hear

I'm trying Lord, not getting anywhere.  Lord in your mercy, please hear your prayer.

Present Day

Our present day actions unwind the past; it's a powerful sticky glue!  That lasts and lasts.

This Traveled Way

For one so blessed, and yet perplexed; how can it be that persistent distress holds sway over me?  Can it seize the day?  We've much to discuss along this traveled way.

If God be for you, can any other power succeed?  If you be for God, your words and deeds say the Lord's will be done; and for this I pray.  Some questions are already answered along this traveled way.

I pray God's prayers, and pray with God's thoughts; a conformed will, I move by the Spirit, just as taught.  Still resilient the struggle that chastens my stay, leaving me puzzled and halted from day-to-day.

Indeed, death is not dead, nor is decay; sufficient the struggle, abundant the way!  If you persist and not succeed is failure the course where you proceed?   "A victory scored" the loss will say.

Maintain your bearing along this traveled way.
